Eran los 90, una década bastante oscura y gris, sobre todo en comparación con el desparrame visual y acústico de los años precedentes. Los grupos de chicos estaban de moda: perfectos mancebos elegidos con cuidado por expertos en marketing aprendían a bailar y a enamorar a las adolescentes a base de melodías edulcoradas y empalagosas armonías vocales.
Su reflejo a este lado del charco fueron las muy británicas Spice Girls. Sin dejar de ser otro producto discográfico, pensado al milímetro, lograron arrasar en las listas de éxitos de todo el mundo a base de desparpajo, reivindicaciones feministas de poco peso, que también tienen su importancia, y, sobre todo, de convertirse en modelos para niñas desde doce años, para desesperaciónde sus madres que las veían trocar el uniforme del colegio por maquillaje y una cierta agresividad sexual hasta entonces mucho más disimulada. Todo el mundo tenía su favorita. ¿Cuál es la tuya?
