Dentro de su noveno álbum de estudio la banda británica Jethro Tull le dedicó una de sus composiciones más famosas a la Baker Street de Londres. En la letra Ian Anderson, líder del conjunto, nos va contando lo que se encuentra por esa mítica calle londinense.
Es uno de esos temas de Jethro Tull que engloban varias partes en uno solo (el disco más famoso de la banda con este tipo de estructuras es el mítico “Thick as a brick”, con dos únicos temas de más de 20 minutos de duración, y que dicho sea de paso no tienen desperdicio). La duración total de la cancion es de 16 minutos divididos en 5 partes más o menos diferenciadas pero la primera parte, la que habla de Baker Street, es la que a nosotros nos interesa. Es ahí donde se refiere directamente a las princesas en mini falda y la musa de Baker Street, calle en la que por cierto vive el detective más famoso de todos los tiempos…Sherlock Holmes.
Un buen ejemplo de las melodías folk-rock-progresivas que tanto nos gustan de Jethro Tull.
